Renee M asked:

My husband just went to bootcamp to be a marine. I want to get him something to do with the service but im not sure what to get yet. I was thinking about a titanium ring with U.S. Marine engraved or something. What do you think?

If I got that as a gift, I’d be very pleasantly surprised.

You should engrave him a little note on the inside with your name.

Yes it would be very nice. They actually make rings that are similar to high school class rings but for the different branches of the service.

This could be something that you could get him.

After he has been in for a while a nice gift is a wall hanging that yuo could display his unit patch (IE 3rd marines patch) his rank and any medals & ribbons he rates. They look nice on the wall, My family did that for me after I was wounded in Iraq.

    Tell him Semper FI

  3. Men’s Jewelry

Most Marines love anything relating to the Corps. Since hes your husband when he graduates….that night we your alone show him the new marine corps thong that you bought in honor of him. a good site to buy one would be sgtgrit.com

Actually, if you go to his graduation, the exchange on base sells graduation rings. It’s just like a class ring from HS, but obviously from basic training graduation. You could get it engraved as well.

Cool! I want an Army one now.

That would be a good thing. if you want to look at Marine gifts check out this site.

Yes it is a good gift, but wait until you know that he will graduate before spending the money. If he medicals out for some reason, it could be a problem for him.

    Good Idea though.

That would be very nice. However do not send it to him while he is still at MCRD Parris Island or MCRD San Diego. He has not yet earned the title Marine, and If I were still a USMC Drill Instructor, would make him pay for being presumptious and wearing a Eagle Globe and Anchor before he has earned it.
After Graduation, go for it. You may also check out. There is a lot of fine USMC gifts on that site.
Soon we will welcome you to the USMC family, Semper Fi, Carry On.
